Mobile Resources: Finding Books

Google Books

 Google Book Search works with libraries and publishers to provide information about books. Depending on the texts and permissions that have been granted, you may be able to read excerpts or even the whole book online. You will also be able to search within the book to see how often and where your topic is mentioned and learn how to find the book. Google Books also now includes many magazines.


To access the Google Books mobile interface, follow the steps below:

1.  Put the following url into your phone's web browser:   


2.  You can then either put in search terms to look for a book or browse the categories listed below. 

Text A Call Number!

Now you can text yourself the call number of any book in Pegasus.  Walk up to the book stacks armed with your call number in hand or save it in your phone for later use!

WorldCat Mobile

WorldCat Local is a single search engine connected to Loyola Libraries' holdings and the holdings of over 72,000 libraries in over 170 countries.

With WorldCat Local Mobile you can: 

  • Search for library materials - Enter search terms such as keywords, author or title.
  • See which Loyola Library has it - And if Loyola doesn't own the item, see which near by libraries do.
  • See the status - You can not only see the location but also whether or not the item is available for check out.
  • Get access to online materials - Click on links for Table of Contents, full electronic versions the materials, and more when available.
  • Email a links or citations - Easily send yourself or other a direct link to the record or a full citation of the item.
