Books in the Loyola University Libraries
In addition to the may resources provided on this guide and on the Career Development Center web site, you may want to review the library Subject Guide for your area of interest. Many, though not all, of the guides include specific career resources for specific disciplines.
In addition, you can check the Pegasus catalog to determine if the Libraries have purchased books on your career interests. Here are a few suggestions to help you look for career books. These suggetions require that you use the Subject Heading search found when you enter Pegasus. Don't forget to include the dashes (--) in your search.
- The search Vocational Guidance -- United States finds materials of general interest such as America's Top 101 Jobs for College Graduates.
- Another general search is College Graduates--Employment--United States.
- To find books that might be helpful for a specific career, try using your career or discipline in a subject heading search. For example, Psychology--Vocational Guidance.
- Two other subject headings of interest areResumes (employment) and Cover Letters.
