Electronic Books

What is an e-book (or ebook, electronic book or digital book)?

  • A digital version of a printed book that is portable and accessible on many electronic devices (Mac, PC, laptop, smartphone, Nook, Sony Reader, etc.)
  • A quick download away (most take less than 3 minutes to fully download!)
  • An eco-friendly alternative to printed books (can also be less expensive!)

    Where can I find e-books?

The LUC Libraries provides access to several different e-book collections. Not all e-book titles are available in one online resource but many are held in the Pegasus Online Catalog and in a program also used to located e-journals. Please see the E-books Subject Guide for complete information on all the libraries’ e-book collections and use the links below for access.

    • Pegasus Online Catalog
To find e-books in Pegasus, enter search terms as normal. Once you receive your search results, you may filter to E-Books on the right hand side of the screen. Look for the Electronic Access link in the item record to view the title.
    • E-Book/E-Journal Search
Click on the e-book tab. You can then search e-books by title or subject.
    • Other e-book collections
A listing of other available e-book collections.

Looking for an e-book that the LUC Libraries do not currently have? Please use the Purchase Request form and select "Book/E-book" in the Resource Type field and "electronic" in the Preferred Format field.
