Illinois Voters

Other Information

In Illinois, voters do not have to register with a party to vote in the primary, but they do have to choose, publicly, which party's ballot they will vote on at the primary election. This is called an open primary.

Can I vote? Are you 18, or going to turn 18 before November 6th, 2018? A citizen of the United States? A resident of the state for over 30 days? Registered to vote? If you answered “yes” to all those questions, you can vote in both the primary and general elections!
