Book Title: Living with HIV
Why Christina is volunteering:
I was diagnosed with HIV at the age of 15 in 1988. When I was given this diagnosis, I was told I had at most 10 years to live if I was lucky. Now over 30 years later, I am still living with HIV but in a completely different landscape where an HIV diagnosis means living with a chronic condition instead of a death sentence. I wish to share my experiences of living with HIV then and now and show that the face of someone living with HIV could be any face you see on the street. People living with HIV face stigma every day and I hope that being open and sharing my story with you will help lessen this stigma.
