Tanjia M. Coleman, Ph.D., is a senior-level human resources and organization development professional in nonprofit, private, and Fortune 100 companies, including Microsoft, Starbucks, KinderCare Education, Tribune Company, Whirlpool, and Motorola.
Currently, Coleman is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lead at NorthShore University HealthSystem – Edward-Elmhurst Health (NS-EEH), where she focuses on DEI strategy, leadership development, DEI training, supplier diversity, workforce development, Employee Resource Groups, and external DEI representation. Coleman is the President of Executive Women of Command where she focuses on leadership development, executive coaching, and professional speaking engagements. She holds an adjunct faculty position with the Loyola University Chicago Quinlan School of Business and is a member of the Quinlan School of Business Board of Advisors. She is a three-time consecutive Crain’s Notable Leader in DEI 2021-2023.
Coleman’s latest book, Three Second World: Essentials for Engineering Your Future, was released in March 2023. It has been a #1 Amazon Bestseller, available in English and Czech and recently awarded a 5-star rating from the Literary Titans organization. The book provides a roadmap for women’s elevation and success as well as action-oriented strategies for navigating the demands of leadership.
