Books

The books displayed here can be used to begin your research on textiles around the world. If a book is shown as Not Available, that means that it has already been checked out, but you can request a copy of the book through Interlibrary Loan if you sign in using your Loyola email address and password.  I strongly recommend taking advantage of interlibrary loan if the book you need is not available. Interlibrary loan can also be used to request catalog and other unique items. Below is a sample search showing how to find catalog materials in WorldCat:

Exhibition Search:  WorldCat

Explanation: Published museum catalogs can be helpful sources of information and provide examples of different textiles and crafting techniques. Search results from the sample WorldCat contains the search query: Exhibition Catalogs AND Textiles AND Afric*. Afric* will search for Africa or African. You can replace Afric* with Asia, Central America* (searches Central American or Central American), Middle East* (searches Middle East or Middle Eastern), and so on.

Access WorldCat here!

Some books may also be checked out to the May Weber Collection, so check with Dr. Nichols if the book you want is in the catalog, but not available.
