Faculty Profiles in Pure4EGS

User guide for creating and editing profiles in Pure4EGS

Relationship to eCommons

eCommons is Loyola’s institutional repository, providing open access to the institution’s academic and scholarly output. As a repository, eCommons stores files, such as PDFs, that provide open access to the full text of a work. Pure4EGS, on the other hand, provides information about works in the form of citations, rather than the text itself. This information may include a link to the work on the publisher’s website, or in an open access repository such as eCommons.

A faculty member's profile might include the entirety of their publications ("research outputs") as citations, but eCommons will only include the work that can be deposited into an institutional repository per the publishers’ policies. For journal articles, often the author’s accepted manuscript version of a published work can be made open access through a repository such as eCommons. Contact Digital Services staff (ecommons[at]luc.edu) for assistance depositing your work to eCommons, or see the Getting Started guide.

Please do not upload works to Pure4EGS, instead, submit them to eCommons, where administrators will review and approve the submission. See the Getting Started guide for submission instructions.

Works in eCommons can be copied to faculty profiles in Pure4EGS using either of the methods described in the Importing Research and Scholarship section (Importing from an Online Source or Automated Database Search). Digital Services staff (eCommons[at]luc.edu) can assist with this as well.
