The automated search function enables you to set up a weekly search of databases like Scopus, Digital Commons, PubMed, and arXiv. You can receive an email when new publications not already listed on your profile are found; you can then choose to import them. Here’s how to set up the automated search from your profile settings:
1. Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner of the page, and then on ‘Edit profile.’

2. On the left side of the window that pops up, select ‘Automated search.’ You can toggle on the databases for which you’d like to set up a search.
Note: If you select Scopus, Pure4EGS will automatically use the Scopus Author ID associated with your profile to search. This is the most accurate way to search for research outputs. If the ID is incorrect, you will have the option to edit it. Other databases search by name, which you will have the option to change as well.

3. When the search finds a research output to import, you will receive a notification in Pure4EGS. You can also check the box above the list of databases to be informed by email, as well.
4. Research outputs that the automated search has found will be listed under ‘Tasks.’ You can then choose which research outputs to import. You will be able to review and then save the research output to your profile.

You can also enable automated search while you are using the Import from Online Source option. When you select a database to search, there will be a link at the bottom of the window to set up an automated search for that database.
