Open Access Initiatives in Higher Education
In support of Open Access, some universities have passed OA resolutions and policies to create Open Access Repositories for faculty articles. Selected examples include:
Notable Open Access Publishing Projects
Open access to over a million e-prints in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Biology, Quantitative Finance and Statistics.
BioMed Central is an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher of nearly 300 open access, online, peer-reviewed journals.
A open access monograph publisher formed by a consortium of colleges and universities.
Open Humanities Press
A grassroots response to the crisis in scholarly publishing in the humanities, Open Humanities Press is an international open access publishing collective whose mission is to make leading works of contemporary critical thought freely available worldwide.
Focusing on biological and medical sciences this provides open peer review and fast publishing time as well as lower article fees than other open access journals.
