Endnote installation instructions: Windows (PC)

These instructions are for an LUC-owned PC desktop. For personal devices, go to the ITS EndNote page and download EndNote using the link under Download and Install EndNote. 

1. To download on a Loyola machine, go to the Software Center and locate EndNote. 

2. Install the application and open it. 

3. There are two options to start: 
   1. New users will click Create a new library.
   2. If you have already have an EndNote library, click Open an existing library. 

4. Save the library to a folder on your device.

EndNote has now been installed on your device.

Syncing to an existing EndNote library

1. To sync an existing EndNote account, click on Edit and choose Preferences.

2. Under Sync, enter your EndNote or EndNoteWeb (EndNote Online) login information to sync accounts.

Endnote installation instructions: MacOS (Apple)

To download on a Mac, go to the ITS EndNote Support page.  Scroll down to the install instructions for Non-Standard Loyola Computers / Personal Devices and choose EndNote 21 for MacOS Download.

• On the next screen, you may see a dialog box confirming that you want to download EndNote. Click Download to begin the process.

• The next several dialog boxes will go through the download process. Click on the EN icon to begin the download.

• Next, click on OPEN to confirm the install.

• Click Install to begin installation.

• Click Next to continue the process on this and the following dialog boxes.

• When the installation is complete, click CLOSE.

• Open the application on your device and choose New from the File menu to create a new Library.

• Be sure to check the box for Save as Package.  This will ensure you don't accidentally separate your data from your library.

• EndNote has been installed.

Syncing to an existing EndNote library

1. To sync an existing EndNote account, click on Edit and choose Preferences.
   
2. Enter your EndNote or EndNote Web login information to sync accounts.
