Orientation: Institute of Pastoral Studies Graduate Students

Hello and welcome to Loyola University of Chicago! This guide provides information for Pastoral Studies graduate students that are new to using library resources at Loyola. As your library subject specialist, I can direct you to resources that can help you be successful in your studies! Feel free to email me or schedule an in-person or online appointment if you have questions or need help! I typically respond to emails and meeting requests within 24 hours.

The library provides access to many resources beyond books, journals, and other research materials. 

• Graduate study lounge/carrels:  In addition to individual study and group study rooms, there are Graduate Study Lounges at the Cudahy Library (3rd floor) and Lewis Library (Room 900). Doctoral candidates who are working on a dissertation or studying for comps can request a study carrel. 
• Printing, copying, and scanning: Students receive $3.50 credit to print each semester; after that, you can add money to your Loyola ID. Printers are available in the lower level and 1st floor of Cudahy, the Information Commons, and the 6th and 8th floor at Lewis. 
• Study rooms: You can book individual and group study rooms up to 24 hours in advance at Cudahy, Information Commons, and Lewis.

• Writing Center: Get in-person or online support for your writing at any stage. You will need to register for an account in order to schedule appointments. 
• Digital Media Services: Borrow equipment (such as chargers, audio equipment, cameras, and laptops), print posters, and access computer labs.
