Course Reserves: Is My Textbook at the Library?

Your instructors may place materials for your course "on reserve" for a limited checkout period. Most reserves are loaned for 4 hours or 3 days. In addition to materials specified by your instructor, you can also check out dry erase markers and calculators.

To find items on reserve for your class:

  1. Go to the Course Reserves Search in the library's online catalog.
  2. You can type in your course name (Example: History of American Education).
  3. Click on the title for the item you want to access.
  4. For electronic reserves, click on the "View Online" link in the item record.

Please note: Electronic items for your class may be available through Sakai rather than the Course Reserves Search.
