The following publications & publishers frequently publish works relating to community engaged scholarship. As practitioners of community engaged scholarship, we have a responsibility to promote scholarship in this area and so we provide this list to make it easier for faculty, students, and academic staff to identify publications in this incredibly interdisciplinary area.

Journals Dedicated to Community Engaged Scholarship

Gateways: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement
Gateways is a refereed journal concerned with the practice and processes of university-community engagement. It provides a forum for academics, practitioners and community representatives to explore issues and reflect on practices relating to the full range of engaged activity.
International Journal for Service Learning in Engineering
Welcomes manuscripts based on original work with a specific focus or implication for service learning in engineering, humanitarian engineering, and social entrepreneurship, or related service learning pedagogy.
International Journal of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement
A peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to the publication of high quality research focused on service-learning, campus-community engagement, and the promotion of active and effective citizenship through education.
Journal for Civic Commitment
Though JCC is particularly interested in work on service-learning in community colleges, articles from faculty and staff at all types of colleges and universities, as well as articles from community partners, are welcome. Journal may not currently be accepting submissions.
Journal of Community Engagement & Scholarship
Integrates teaching, research, and community engagement in all disciplines, addressing problems identified through a community-participatory process.
Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement
The mission of the Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement (JHEOE) is to serve as the premier peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal to advance theory and practice related to all forms of outreach and engagement between higher education institutions and communities.
Journal of Public Scholarship in Higher Education
A journal that focuses on engaged scholarship. Currently the journal's website is malfunctioning.
Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning
MJCSL is an open-access journal focusing on research, theory, pedagogy, and other matters related to academic service-learning, campus-community partnerships, and engaged/public scholarship in higher education.
Public: a Journal of Imagining America
A peer-reviewed, multimedia e-journal focused on humanities, arts, and design in public life. It aspires to connect what we can imagine with what we can do. The editors are interested in projects, pedagogies, resources, and ideas that reflect rich engagements among diverse participants, organizations, disciplines, and sectors.
Reflections: A Journal of Community-Engaged Writing and Rhetoric
Focuses on how community-based writing projects 1) contribute to our knowledge of theories, practices, and uses of writing and rhetoric; and 2) alter traditional pedagogy and research practices of composition and rhetoric and allied fields.
