Welcome French 250 students! 

Use this guide to help you find sources for your presentations. 

Vous devez en 8-10 minutes :

• présenter les sources (auteur, date, journal…)
• expliquer pourquoi vous avez choisi ces articles
• présenter les points importants de chaque article (en vous aidant d’un PowerPoint) et expliquer les questions posées dans les articles
• poser 2 ou 3 questions à l’ensemble de la classe pour faciliter la discussion [you should end your presentation by asking 2 or 3 questions to the whole class to facilitate a debate/discussion on what you just presented]

Searching Nexis Uni for Francophone News Sources

Follow the instructions below to find an article!

• Click the Nexis Uni link

• Sign in with your Loyola username and password (if prompted)
• In the following section, choose News, type in your search terms (i.e. COVID-19) and choose your date range. Click Search. 

• On the left-hand side, click: 
  • Language > More > French
• Optional: Narrow by Publication Type
  • Newspapers
  • Newswires
  • Web-based Publications
• Optional: Narrow by Geography by Document
• Optional: Narrow by Sources
• Optional: Add additional search terms to narrow results  
• Check word count to make sure it's sufficient
• Check the Preview before committing

• Click the title to see the full-text
• Use the following options to save/share the document

Searching Access World News for Francophone News Sources

Follow the instructions below to find an article!

• Click the Access World News link

• Sign in with your Loyola username and password (if prompted)

• Deselect USA - Illinois or click Clear All 

• Click the section on a World Region you want to explore OR
• Narrow by Country OR 
• Narrow by City OR 
• Narrow by Language 
• Type in your search terms at the top of the page (i.e. COVID-19)
• The database defaults to sorting by most recent matches first
• Check language and word count 
• Email, Print or Save as PDF!
