Creating News Accounts

  • Wall Street Journal Sign Up
    1. Once at the registration page, choose your account type from the drop-down menu (Student, Staff, or Professor).
    2. Enter your first and last name and your LUC email address.
    3. For students, enter your graduation date.
    4. Create a password of your choice.
    5. Check the box: "I agree to the Privacy Policy, Subscriber Agreement, Cookie Policy"
    6. Click the blue CREATE button.
  • After you register, immediately login to the Wall Street Journal at https://www.wsj.com/ to verify your email address (it may take a few minutes to receive the verification email).
  • Once you verify your email address you will have full access to the WSJ.com website and you can download the WSJ mobile app.
  • Student accounts remain active until graduation.

 

  • Washington Post Sign Up
    1. Once on the Washington Post homepage, click Sign In in the upper right hand corner:

    2. Then click Sign Up:
    3. Enter your LUC email address and agree to the terms of service.
    4. Check your email for a verification link and verify access.

 

  • New York Times Sign Up
    1. After clicking the link above, click “Create an Account” to register using your LUC email address.
    2. Please note: If you already have a NY Times account (free or paid) tied to your LUC email, you will need to unlink your UIC email from that account before signing up for your Academic Pass (see Unlinking Your LUC Email Address for more details).  For free accounts, it may also work sometimes that you can click on "Already have an account? Log in Here" and transfer to the Academic Pass.
    3. The password you create for the New York Times should not be your LUC password. 
    4. You will receive a welcome email. You must click the confirmation link in the email to complete this process.
    5. Once your registration is complete, you can navigate directly to nytimes.com from any web-enabled device and log in.
