Chicago Public Library

The Chicago Public Library has many books, virtual career resources for job seekers, and events and workshops. Getting a library card is easy—and it's free! Current, valid ID with name, photo and Chicago address is required. Some recommended resources from CPL include:

    • Take online video courses to learn business, software, technology and design skills. Videos are available in multiple languages.
  • Brainfuse: Job Seekers and Adult Learners
    • Get personal feedback on your resume within 24 hours from an online writing coach
    • Get help with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, including resume templates.
  • ChiBizHub
    • ChiBizHub connects new and existing Chicago businesses to business resource providers. 
  • Data Axle
    • Listings for 59 million U.S. business locations and 310 million consumers. Search businesses by name, location, industry and size.
