Hello and welcome to Loyola University of Chicago! This guide is intended to introduce COMM 101: Public Speaking and Critical Thinking students to library resources at Loyola. As your library liaison, I can direct you to resources that can help you be successful in your studies!

General Resources

The library provides access to many resources beyond books, journals, and other research materials. 

  • Printing, copying, and scanning: Students receive a limited number of credits to print each semester; after that, you can add money to your Loyola ID. Printers are available in the lower level and 1st floor of Cudahy, the Information Commons, and the 6th and 8th floor at Lewis. 
  • Study rooms: You can book individual and group study rooms up to 24 hours in advance at Cudahy, Information Commons, and Lewis. 

Other Services

For writing support, poster printing support, and access to equipment, hardware, and software, check out the resources below: 

  • Writing Center: Get in-person or online support for your writing at any stage. You will need to register for an account in order to schedule appointments. 
  • Digital Media Services: Borrow equipment (such as chargers, audio equipment, cameras, and laptops), print posters, and access computer labs.
